My professional life began following the completion of my photographic and cinema studies at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California in 1982. Returning to Canada I was fortunate to find work as a contract photographer for a respected Cinema Magazine as well as various other national periodicals. Somewhere around 1984, I began the pursuit of a rather unusual dual career path. While continuing to work as a freelance editorial photographer, I worked my way through the (Motion Picture) Assistant Director ranks...eventually achieving the position of 1st Assistant Director and a senior member of the Directors Guild of Canada. Early in 1994, work on a feature film took me to Prague, Czech Republic. In 2004 I made the decision to focus entirely on my photographic pursuits both within and outside of the film industry...something I continue to do today.
